6 months? No way.

My monkey is 6 months old today. Unreal. Impossible. Utter insanity.
6 months ago at this moment I was hooked up to my IV, watching endless Law and Order and waiting for my body to do it’s thing. Today, I’m staring at the sweetest, funniest, and most lovable baby imaginable.
I may be slightly fatter, slightly more frazzled, short on sleep, and running on fumes these days, but I’m exploding with love. Those stretch marks people tell you are “worth it” - well, they totally are. The cute dry clean only clothes now hanging in the back of my closet? I don’t even care them. The extra 20 pounds I’m still toting around? Not my favorite, but they certainly aren’t bringing me down.
I feel so lucky to have this baby. I knew I wanted a child. I begged and pleaded for a baby. But I had no idea how much I was missing a piece of myself until he was born. I am the cliche! My life is better because of him.
Thank you Grayson, for being so lovable.

Our little guy is one day ahead of yours (born 1/15). I was shocked, too, to realize that he’s halfway to a year old. Harrison is our third child but our first baby, as his older sisters are adopted. The girls were adopted at ages 8 months and 12 months, so it’s been uncharted territory for us and will continue to be so for another couple of months. It’s tremendously hard work, but I so love hanging out and playing with my boy and seeing what he’s going to figure out next. As an added bonus, Harry just figured out how to sleep through the night this week!
Best wishes to you and a happy half-birthday to Grayson.

Totally started crying when you said you didn’t realize you were missing a piece of yourself until he was born. I’m so happy he brings so much joy to your life! He is SO cute, how could he not?!
